Invitations....

Being a card maker, I've always dreamed of making my own invitations.  This wedding is at a winery and it will be a rustic chic type affair.  My friend Monique is perfect for helping visualize since her house design is exactly that!

We have been working on a lot of shabby chic items for decor but I will save that for another post!

Back to the invitations.  Ive worked on them and worked on them and then guess what?! My fiancĂ© doesn't like them! Now remember the theme!!! This isn't your typical banquet style invitation.
I think they are amazing and I love the fonts! My mom... not so much, she said they are hard to read.  Aren't wedding invitations supposed to have fancy writing?! Anyway I think to break up the brown, I will be adding lace to the belly band or replacing it with lace burlap all together.  What do you think?

First Wedding Cake for an actual Wedding!

So very recently, one of my best friends got married.  I was lucky enough to be asked to do the cake.  The catch was that I was not only in the wedding and had other duties to fulfill but the wedding was the day after my last day of school for the year.  Yes this was very time pressing for me.  I managed to get 2 tiers done before hand, marking the first time that I have ever fondanted fake tiers.   The third and final tier was done the night before.  It wasn't even put together until the day of the wedding by the grooms father (long story) and I must admit, I am very happy by the way it turned out!

Thank you in advance for leaving a comment!

Latest Card: Dominique got married!

So i got a card in the mail from my good friend Dominqiue thanking me for my christmas card. She was one of the teachers at Claude Bernard when I was teaching there way back when I was in France and had no care in the world! ok im rambling..

Anyway, I visited her this past March in Wimbledon which is where she now lives with her son and bf but when I was there, there wasn't any talk of marriage so imagine the shock on my face when I receive this card and WHAM! she got married! Congrats to her!

It just so happened that last Thursday at Michaels, when I was there for my cake decorating class, I found a couple new stamps about love (b/c of this valentines day thing coming soon, not that im bitter!) and so I had the perfect idea for a new card!

Hope you like it!
