Watercolour backed card

I saw that at So Suzy Stamps, the blog hop for March is using watercolored techniques so I decided to use some stamps that I recently purchased from them and get to work.

Once again, I took some watercolored card stock and stamped my two So Suzy Stamps on them.  I embossed them with Stampendous Detail white embossing powder and heat set it.
I then put a lot of water on my paper and used Mustard seed and Fired Brick distressed inks with a paint brush.  I played around with water to get the splotches in the background and the stamped images acted as a resist which gave them the nice look.
I thought the background needed something more so I attached some DCWV twine around the card and some sequins (from michaels).
I attached it to the card using foam tape.

I just love the watercolored backgrounds and will hopefully continue to when I get more time!

Anyone need some sunshine?

I am super ecstatic at how this turned out! In hind sight though, I think I would have used a bigger sentiment stamp.  This was my faux watercolour technique where I used mustard seed and fired brick distressed inks along with the recollections yellow shimmer spray.  I painted the flowers which were stamped and embossed in Stamp Stuff gold and then flicked some more of the inks at splatter.  I added some sequins and backed it on yellow card stock! What a nice spring time card!

Distressed Watercolored like cards

I am sort of obsessed with using the "you're the bomb" stamp set from close to my heart.  I decided to emboss the sentiments with Stampendous White embossing powder.  I am not a huge fan of this embossing powder but am determined to use it up before I buy more.  I see a lot of people using hero arts so that might be the next one I try!

I do like this technique which I learned from KWerner Designs. I really like her videos and tips!
